You Do Not Know Your Impact

You do not know your Impact. Here are four short stories to teach you exactly what that means.

Read these four verses & four stories below:

  1. “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot”

The first time making Amma’s parippu recipe I forgot the little trick she does to ensure that the correct amount of salt goes into the curry. That small amount of salt missing was enough for me to wish my mother was making the dish instead of me. Just like the correct amount salt or love your Ammi puts into the food she cooks, we must also realize the value and worth we have in everything we do. Even the little things we do and what the people around us do has such a huge impact.

2. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”

One of my friend’s has the biggest, brightest smile that leaves an impact. His smile is an extension of his warm and shining nature. Our friends always joked that if there was no flashlight on a trip, that all he had to do was smile for us to see in the dark. Remember that you and my friend are no different. Even if it is not your smile you have a light, a brightness within you that others can feel and see. Embrace that!

3. “Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

My favorite memory is going around my hometown during the Holiday Season to see the beautiful Christmas lights hung up. Imagine if those lights were never put outside. They are put outside for a reason! To light up the surrounding area and celebrate that time of year. Just like those lights you are meant to shine with your talents, especially the ones that God has gifted too you.

4. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven”.

There was the girl whom I met who was deaf and all I wanted to tell her was how beautiful she was with smile on her face. I went to YouTube and I learned exactly how to say that to her. To this day, I will never forget her smile when I told her she was beautiful in sign language. If you want to feel goodness, life, and love in your life you must be willing to be a source of it to others.

All these lessons are from Matthew 5:13–16.

All these stories though small and personal can teach anyone a simple belief, which is too…

Know your worth!

Until you are unafraid in the pursuit of living, being, and showing that light you have within you!
