A Cold Morning

“But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” — Romans 8:25

Today I woke up in the morning and it was cold. The type of cold that makes you want to stay in bed a little while longer. The type of cold where a warm hug would be perfect. The light slowly creeping into my room, I realized the thought of waking up to someone who loves me one day was calming. It is beautiful to think about marriage and what it would be like to be completely committed to someone.

The thought of accepting a person fully in their bad habits, annoyances, and irritating behaviors and wanting wake up beside them is very sweet idea. Just think of how your Amma has fallen asleep during childhood with you. All she wanted was to be in your presence. When I reflect on Romans 8:25 I realize that although I may not see that person yet, it does not mean that I cannot hope and wait in patience. I cannot wait for the day to make someone’s bed, to make breakfast for them, and to live life with them. I cannot wait to wake up to someone who genuinely loves me. It’s better to wait for the right person when I reflect on this verse, it is a patient and loving wait.

So every morning when I feel the coldness in my room and I wrap my blanket a little tighter to my body. I know that whoever you are and wherever you are that I am always praying for you. Waiting for the day I wake up next to you.
